IIRC While the Avatar crew are hiding in the Fire Nation in the third season, they go to a play and Zuko notes that his mother dragged his family to see this troupe perform Love Amongst the Dragons every year (before his backstory happened). It was not one of Zuko's happy memories of his early life, although I suppose once 'the call' happened, it put the performances into perspective.

The reason Zuko's mother was so fond of the play gets explored in the later comics, I believe.
