"Yes, and it was glorious."

...what are the odds that this is in the garage of some member of the IPO, possibly in the Chief's family?

That's the Stig's car! (or a version of it, anyway.)

I dunno...the Stig's really more the kind of guy who does his thing by dint of superior driving skill and machine performance; the gimmick of a variable-geometry armed vehicle really isn't his style. I don't recall seeing UF:Stig in any kind of variable-geometry vehicle, come to think of it.

Now, mind you, the rumored Griffin Mark Iforgetwhat--the development of which was interrupted by SonSet, if I remember my UF Canon correctly (per the Top Gear episode where the Griffin Limo appeared)--was supposed to be an unusual hotrod. This could well be in line for that, given the prospective client's known affinity for variable geometry vehicles, heavily armed vehicles, and absolute insanity while driving.

Go re-read The Sandero Affair. Stig's car is a "Sunrise Motorworks Griffon 6155 Interceptor".

In fairness, that's not his only car (in fact, strictly speaking it may not be his own car), just the one he happened to take to Tesco that day.

Given the long list of things that "some say" about the Stig, it would not surprise me if he could simply simply borrow any car he happened to need whenever he needed it. As in, the owner of the Griffon 6155 happened to be driving by just as the Stig needed it to drive to the Tesco and surrendered the keys without a fuss, confident that the vehicle would be returned safe, sound, and with a full tank of gas and a detailing (because, you know, it's the Stig).

Either that, or the Stig can create cars out of thin air. Personally, I think the first idea is funnier.

("Dear, I need you to come pick me up. I'm at the corner of Sterling and Gibson."
"What happened? Are you okay?"
"Quite fine. The Stig just needed to borrow the car."
"Oh. Well, I'll be there in about ten minutes. Did he say why?"
"Not really, no. But you know the Stig....")
