Speaking as someone who has never laid eyes on an Iron Man comic in my life, the backstory was very well-presented. The tech bits were nicely futuristic, the characterisation was as always superb... all in all, a fine read in the Excellent Eyrie way. :)

Major "Snrk!" moment:

	The phone at the other end rang twice before it was answered
with a crisp click and a filtered voice saying, "Operator."
	"Mackie!" Nene said.  "I need an exit."

But then, I have a known weakness for surprising quotes used in a completely different context.
