Well, kind of, anyhow.

Actually based in Tokyo, it's basically an updated version of the Virtual World pod concept, built by Bandai and using Mobile Suit Gundam suits. 4 on 4 teams in linked pods, and you get a card that keeps your stats and achievements from match to match.

At 500 yen a go round, that gets a bit expensive, but it looks like a lot of fun.

And after each fight there's a 75-minute cooldown period in which all participants reflect upon the horror and inhumanity of war.

Given I was just remarking on how the original series was the last time Gundam had a clear "good guys/bad guys" split from beginning to end, I suppose my monitor has no one but me to blame for the sudden shower.
