This got cut from DSM Panic! episode 3 in favor of Kaname's series of lunchtime meetings, which provided enough time and space for Boba to check with his various merc-world contacts about Sosuke, then confront him directly, before reporting back to Lindsey.

Finally, an exhausted Lindsey Willows called time for lunch and slunk off to have a nap, grumbling about how it would have been easier to mediate between sand miners and Jawas.

"Hmm," said Kaname, rising as well. "A nap. That sounds like a good idea. I'm going to go have one too. In the library. With the wrench." She paused, took note of the nearer of the table's two candlesticks, and immediately corrected herself, picking it up and saying its name instead. Then she pointed it magisterially at Sosuke and added, "You are not invited."

The young soldier merely nodded, hands on his knees. "Very well. This building is secure; I will wait here."

Kaname held her flinty gaze on him for a couple more seconds, then withdrew the candlestick, turned on her heel, and left the room.

Sosuke sat looking at the doorway she'd exited through for a moment, then frowned thoughtfully and muttered, "... The wrench?"
