If I had to take a guess, the mom is still wearing her amautik after the kid has graduated from riding in it. (Alternately, there's a baby in the back that we can't see. ;) They sound like really comfy jackets.

Knowing what I know of how heavy a kid that size would be, I certainly wouldn't want all that weight on my shoulders.
