The existing rhyme works fine with a plummy enough accent, but that's a good suggestion, and as far as I can tell it scans the same (there are two different ways of singing the line that's in that position in the verse, probably to accommodate voices that can't hit the high note in one version, and they scan slightly differently anyway), so I believe I'll use it...

even though technically it should be "none of them despairs", that doesn't rhyme as well
