The funny thing about that is that it didn't have anything to do with the fact that she works in the Getter-ray lab. She wasn't even at work when it happened. Mutant superpowers usually kick in at puberty, but the current half-joking theory is that she was simply too busy being a child science prodigy at the time to be bothered with a little thing like evolving into the Standard Brick (Non-Flying). :)
