Indeed. I first came across the stories from this era in this big Batman hardcover my parents bought me while I was recovering from getting my tonsils removed (so, around 77-78). There was one story in particular (a ghost story of sorts) that fried my brain.

And, of course, the Goodwin/Simonson Manhunter stories, which STILL hold up, and needs to be put back in print, dammit!
