A form of mustard gas was the first chemotherapeutic agent, used in treating lymphomas after it was discovered that exposure to it decreased lymphocytes. Of course, that was back in the "stone knives and bearskins" era of Earth medicine, and probably only Bruce would be that pbsessive in looking up other examples.
