I think I was at least subconsciously going for Welles with a bit of the late Don LaFontaine ("In a world...") and some of the delivery, if not the timbre (I don't have the requisite raspy overtone) of Ashton Smith, who narrated the first few seasons of National Geographic's Seconds from Disaster and has been turning up on a lot of action movie trailers since LaFontaine died.

I thought about doing it all in my Johnny-Depp-as-Hunter-S.-Thompson from Manhunt, but the darker, slower style seemed to fit better. :)
