J. Smilodon Hugglesworth is the host of the popular Avalon 17 children's program Intrepid Adventurers with J. Smilodon Hugglesworth. He's a puppet in the form of a sabretoothed cat who speaks and dresses like an English gentleman circa 1880, and introduces short films featuring two-fisted lifeforms of action through the ages. Any resemblance between JSH (as his fans often refer to him in written discussions) and Sir Victor Creed of New Snowdonia are purely (and genuinely) coincidental and Sir Victor wishes certain of Laura's friends would stop calling him that.

AlphaCollider (sometimes with a space) is a Goa trance/techno/bigbeat fusion group out of the Crown Colonies. They've been mentioned in the Symphony a couple of times. Their name comes from the real-life Goa group Juno Reactor (there's a Roland synth called the Alpha Juno, y'see).

('Lise's shirt just has the logo on it, not the text.)

A much larger version of the Saganizer appears in Atomic Robo and the Shadow from Beyond Time. ("When you return to your unobservable but empirically determined dimension of origin, tell them Carl Sagan sent you.")

'Lise's trip flashback was the bit I most enjoyed putting together, particularly the trapping of the Class VII. I wanted to show the Ghostbusters at the top of their game - they've been at it for 10 years at this point and have got their shit as together as it's ever gonna get - before everything goes to pieces and they end up out of even their by-now-very-considerable depth.
