Believe it or not, I found hope and inspiration in your earlier post.

Yes, we now have what we think is a pretty good idea of how the story begins (born in an atto-instant of unimaginable fury, as energy too dense to be matter creates space to have something to blast outward into) and ends (a uniform cold darkness as the last of the protons boil away and time itself ceases to exist in any but the most abstract sense). But the part in the middle? That's the part that matters to us bright, ephemeral baryonic beings. That cosmically brief instant of wonder when matter organizes itself into galaxies and stars and planets and clouds and oceans and life - sometimes even, miracle of miracles, life that can look at and know itself. That's the really cool part, IMO.
