There are circumstances under which this is a definite shortcut to greater mayhem. Being at large on Earth at a time when the General Public thinks that's not supposed to happen is probably one of them.

Context blindness. If you're down at the 7-Eleven and the guy ahead of you in line at the Slurpee machine is Vladimir Putin, are you going to think, "OH MY GOD it's Vladimir Putin at my 7-Eleven," or are you going to think, "Ha, that guy looks like Vladimir Putin, poor bastard"?

She's 1400 years old, and her late father was a duke. Technically, she'd probably have a pursuable claim to the duchy he left vacant, but she doesn't want it - that'd mean she'd have to live there, ugh. But yeah, she keeps in touch with some folks back home, even though you couldn't pay her to go back anything like full-time.
