Let's throw down some theories:

1. Azula makes it back to Diqiu, albeit anonymously and she's Azana's mother or grandmother.

2. Azula would be physically around 90 by 2410. That's potentially no more than middle-age by the standards of the Fire Nations' royal family or by modern human medicine. I still advocate the theory that she's part of Hammer's rogue gallery as Carmen Sandiego.

3. Kaitlin and Anne accompany Gryphon to Laura's next birthday, celebrated at Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, New Snowdonia. Azula is another guest and Anne spends most of the meeting not so covertly watching her and going 'surely not', plus blushing when Azula casually says "You're too young for me."

4. Korra is asked about her earlier visits to the greater galaxy and she mentions that telling the current Fire Lord's father that his great-aunt Azula had died heroically in some fashion and wound up having to escort a delegation to make an offering at her grave - with political problems resulting in Diqiu and some sort of skirmish in the real world leading to the Fire Nation insisting that in future the Republic deal with the rest of the galaxy.
