Sort of? I mean, I needed somebody to fill that role anyway, and they were right there. In fact, I'm tempted to wonder if the next bit of OWaW's planned plot hasn't hung as long as it has because it was waiting for me to run across the right characters to put in those slots. You may scoff, but this has happened before.

Alice is, to date, the only character from outside Embodiment of Scarlet Devil to come in, primarily because she is in a million-billion doujins with Marisa and/or Patchouli (and, by extension, Sakuya), so if you research EoSD characters, you'll inevitably meet her.
