Ain't nuthin' wrong with fulfilling a little nagging urge to "set some things right" in the universe, and doing it in a respectful, satisfying way. I think of this as one of them, and strikes me as the exact opposite of the infamous "fanboy rewrite" of comic book and 'fic land.
