Actually, for that episode (which has been mentioned in one of the Avalon 17 channel listings posts) they were going to throw Adam in, but eventually cooler heads prevailed and they just used that old standby, an instrumented ballistics dummy.

This was the Tatooine Sarlacc's last appearance on television before it met with a mysterious and fiery end.
