Ha, just found: on page 64 of the Haynes Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II Owners' Workshop Manual, there is the famous photo of Captain (as she was at the time) Campbell inspecting the shrapnel holes in her 'Hog, with that cheerfully bemused "Well, shit, you don't see that every day" smile on her face.
