I really liked Sanctuary, but what I wanted to discuss was more general in nature than that so I started this thread instead of cluttering up that one.

For a while I've been wanting to see more stories about the Golden Age and the Exile, especially the Golden Age for some reason. I think more mini-stories (short stories?) based in these time periods would be great, especially if the writers have an idea that just can't fill out a larger story.

Let's face it, there is 400+ years between UF1 and SOS that is begging to be explored. So if an idea is kicking around, just play with it. I love short stories as much as the larger novels, and I think they would work well together. Plus, it can let you explore the stray ideas that pop up from time to time while you are trying to finish the larger works.

Just my opinion, not even worth $0.02 in most areas.

I would agree whole-heartedly with this.

I'd be up for more Golden Age stories too. I know there's more than one point where SDF-17 is called the "most boring space battlefortress in the universe" or something to that effect, so if longer stories are'nt the best medium for that era, the mini-stories might work very well instead :)

Besides, I've always been curious about all the wars with the Kilrathi, the Gamilons, the Zentraedi and such...

Out here.

I'm glad to see the mini-stories are up and running. I think it is a great way to use all those little bits that have been kicking around with nowhere to go. They are a fun read and I am looking forward to more.
