I was watching Star Trek II tonight for the n+1 time, and the first time since reading The Final Simulation, when a strange thought hit me. During the Kobyashi Maru simulation when Saavik says "Damn" I thought to myself that she must have picked that up from Gryphon....

I just chanced to reread this, and it struck me as simultaneously probable and funny, since in a situation like the one she finds herself in there, assuming they were in real action and not a supervised simulation, G would be much more likely to say something along the lines of "faaaaack." Which is a hilarious thing to envision Saavik saying in her turn. :)
