Student Life deals with quality-of-life issues on campus - housing, food, activities, clubs, Student Government, that kind of thing - so whoever is in charge of the ResLife office works for Dean Montaigne. The Dean of Students is a different office altogether - they handle academic and disciplinary matters, the Office of Student Records, and so forth.
