>Well... mission accomplished. Goodbye, Mr. Bond!

I was digging around on my Switch's memory card earlier, looking to clean up the storage a bit and forestall the inevitable day when I have to buy an even bigger MicroSD card, and I ran across this clip again. And watching it again, I realized something.

Gloria is meant to seem cute and harmless like all Pokémon main characters. She didn't even really want to be a competitive Pokémon trainer when she started. She's supposed to be the standard cheerful, charmingly naïve protagonist who's been swept into the role by events and is doing the best she can, always a tiny bit out of her depth.

But she's not.

She is a breaker of wills. A destroyer of dreams. In the course of her carefully executed campaign, she ruthlessly snuffs out the ambitions of all who dare oppose her, brings the most powerful man in Galar to his knees, and makes not one but two supernatural terrors out of myth her willing servants. Gloria is Galar's unconquerable goddess of war, the Enyo of the frozen north. Strife and Discord are her handmaidens, Eternatus and Scorbunny her heralds. None may stand against her. All shall love her and despair.

It makes a man proud to have some Scottish ancestry.
