If I remember right, the part of the world where Earthdawn is set is basically western Russia and the Ukraine, and the River Serpent (home, uh... turf? of the t'skrang) will one day be the Volga, but I could be misremembering the precise details. It's definitely eastern Europe, I remember noticing the Black Sea on the map.
