is incredible and will be many people's Game of the Year, if not of the Decade. I'm only getting into it late because it blew so many people away that physical disc editions were sold out for months and I was being particular and wanted to have one for PS5. It's the first game from a smaller studio that formed in 2020 by an ex-Ubisoft dev but then with a lot of junior people and industry outsiders.

Gripping story and excellent turn based RPG gameplay but with timing animation based blocking/dodging ala Super Mario RPG or Legend of Dragoon. I'm about 10 hours in and don't have a single complaint.

It's also very, incredibly, overwhelmingly French. :)

I have watched several holomems play it (mostly; I think I've missed the streams where they played the part that actually explained what the hell was going on), and it did indeed look amazing. And way too hard for the likes of me. :)

As a bonus, here is Takanashi Kiara singing the theme song to celebrate reaching 1.6M subscribers in a home-3D karaoke stream. Please overlook the fact that she's sitting in a hot tub. It made sense in the context of the stream. :)

There's ways to make it easier, fortunately. Easy mode does widen the response window for both dodge and parry, and attack timing can be turned off completely. It cannot be played with no timing skills, though, unfortunately, since dodge and parry are absolutely critical to winning and can't be turned off completely.

And to close the loop, Platinum'd it this weekend, 78 hours all told. 9.5/10, -0.5 for the sadist that put jumping puzzles and challenges in a game, engine, and control scheme that does not support them. :)

Still should easily be GOTY, even if admittedly I was getting tired of it and really wanted to be done at around the 60-65 hour mark working through all the optional, increasingly harder areas in the final act with the story having mostly been wrapped up aside from the final climax.
