Yeah, unfortunately that doesn't work quite as well in War Thunder, because your team doesn't spawn all together in one place at one time like you do in World of Tanks, so you're not guaranteed to actually have anyone handy to follow right away. Both times I spawned in the game I was posting about, I was alone in a field.

On the plus side, that means there was no one around to see me get my Panzer II hung up on a tank trap I mistook for a destructible fence. Derp. :)

On the minus side, after I got the Panzer off the hedgehog and back into the fight, I got blown up before I found my way to the cap, and when I respawned alone in the field again, I didn't have any clues as to which fork in the road would actually lead to the top of the bluff where said cap was. I ended up picking the one that went around and dead-ended in the canyon behind it instead. The game ended before I could trundle all the way around to the other side of the dang map.
