While this subplot has been handled pretty well so far, I have to say that I find myself thoroughly squicked by the idea of Flan actually becoming romantically and/or sexually involved with Gryphon. It seems to me she's not psychologically mature enough for that, and she needs to do some growing up before she tries dating anyone. Getting out and about in Paris and discovering an interest in the craft of toymaking was a good start on that, but she needs to, like, make friends her own subjective age, and take a few years to have the adolescence she didn't get to have before now. Maybe more than a few years; she's a vampire, after all, she's got time.
