[ I made the original post from my phone, on which DCF markup is too much of a pain to bother with. I'm just italicizing a couple of things and linking a couple of other things, now that I'm at a proper computer. --G.]

When I needed a birthday for Remilia to tell Trautmann in the mairie scene in GG2/II, I made it August 12 on a whim, because I happened to be listening to "The Eve of the War" from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds at the time, and that date is mentioned in the narration as the day the Martians started launching cylinders. ("At midnight on the twelfth of August, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Earth.")

Only later, when I was writing the scene in 2/VII where she and G pick the date for their (ceremonial, if not necessary bureaucratical) wedding, did I discover that August 12 also happens to be the day of that month's full-moon night in 1946, which struck me as a pleasant coincidence...

... but go take a look at the OP in the Source Material thread where I first mentioned Remilia, "The Trouble With Randos, or, A Toho Production".

I promise you I was not consciously mindful of that--neither when I made 8/12 her birthdate, nor when I (with the aid of the moon phase chart for August 1946) chose it as their wedding day.

Welp!
