A little late, but I realized no one else commented on it.Crunchyroll and Funimation are streaming a new Strike Witches anime. It's a short-form, super-deformed slice of life anime which is all about the crazy hijinks and almost nothing serious (the Neuroi are hardly mentioned). However, it also is pretty funny, and sometimes the characters are a little like Gryphon's take on them. - Their version of Miyafuji could deserve the title of "Beast" as she sometimes (i.e., when it is funny) actively seeks moments to grope the other witches. For example, when they are doing emergency medical training and it comes to CPR and chest compressions, she says "Should I go get Lynne and Shirley?" with an aura around her.
- Eila is not only actively interested in Sanya, she's almost yandere about it. The other girls comment on her being a stalker.
- Mio is often the straight woman, but she gets a few digs in.
- Lynne seems perfectly nice, but she tends to emit an aura of "Back off, man, I'm a Brittanian." She has also often pulls a Batman and disappears just before the s**t hits the fan (or Mina cooks).
- Shirley, Lucchini, and Hartman are constantly playing pranks on everyone, often provoking the ire of Mina.
There's more I'm probably forgetting, but it's a fun show, IMHO. The art style does take some getting used to. Apparently they are doing a 30-minute theatrical version in October that will have Shizuka appearing

>Ah! Strike Witches Fumoffu, as it were. > >--G. and every bit as worth watching. as I've followed these first five or six episodes I can't help but wonder if they've not taken more than a few notes from you own cannon playbook Ben.

And after having seen the very last episode they seem to have commissioned, I really have to wonder about the strange symmetry behind Gryphon's Vision(s) of alternate realities as compared to those who wrote the scripts for these. Not going to accuse THEM of anything... but darn if all of the hijinks seen here feel to me like something Gryphon might have written regardless of if he did or did not. Especially the 'seeming' re writing of the events of the second movie?
