That's fair. Strike Witches has a pretty steep what-the-hell-is-this curb to get over.

Well, that's always nice to hear. When the time came to admit to myself that it needed a proper series title, I ended up picking the one I did as kind of a joke—because even though it has vampires, madness, a life-or-death battle, and some pretty dark background, the story isn't really all that... y'know, gothic. :)

If nothing else, the format inevitably tones back some of what makes the source hard for a lot of people to get into. I mean, they're still not wearing pants, but most of the time it's not as obvious. :)

Heh, given the way it developed on me, it pretty much had to. Believe it or not, I didn't go into this thinking that Remilia Scarlet, of all people, was going to turn out to be the One to bring balance to the Force Gryphon's preposterous life, but... it's looking like she is. At that point, well... "dude, aren't you still already married, hopefully?" becomes the elephant in the room that has to be addressed sooner rather than later.
