Glad this got out there! I was considering doing a writeup of my own on a similar subject, perhaps some piece of goofy Transbelvian ironmongery that managed to be both chronically over- and under-engineered at the same time. Yours would have wound up being better though, not least because of the addition of pictures; I haven't been able to get up to my dad's barn recently to strip down any of the gun games.

But yeah, it's not so obtuse an idea that I can seriously take credit for putting it in your head, but we did discuss it via PM many moons ago. It certainly turned out great, and I hope it becomes a running gag. =]

also i'm p sure yours would be better purely because i'm not hugely knowledgeable about gunsmithing, though were an article discussing some Glorious Transbelvian Industrial Workmanship that might not entirely matter. =]
