In the famous "This is my boom stick!" scene in Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness, the side-by-side shotgun Ash brandishes and claims is a Remington is not; it's a Stoeger Coach Gun. (I used to have one; they're not bad pieces of hardware, albeit not built to quite the same standard as authentic Remington double guns from back in the days when Remington was a real company and not a zombie brand.)

The thing that really struck me about that scene just now, though, was how the dialogue dates the movie. Ash claims that the model of shotgun he's holding is available in the sporting goods department at S-Mart for $109.95. Today's Stoeger Coach Gun, which can still be bought new, MSRPs for $549 in the configuration of the one Ash has.

(No such comparison to the price of a Remington double shotgun can be made, since they're extinct. The company using that name now only sells semiauto and pump-action shotguns.)

heck, S-Mart is probably a dead chain itself in the present day of the Evil Dead universe, just like KMart

I thought for a moment about whether zombie brands would have an overlord like the Kandarian Demon in Evil Dead, but then I decided that private equity firms are far more evil and destructive.

That's a pretty easy call, in my opinion.
