I think >black-powder weapons are cool, in the "I'll stand over here and watch" >sense, rather than the "I want one!" sense. :) When I was a kid, I went to the reenactment of the Battle of Lexington a few times, and while it sure was fun to watch (even if I was bleary-eyed from having to get up at like 4am to be sure to get a spot you can see from), I never really wanted to be right in the middle of those clouds. And that was before I learned (albeit only academically) about what it took to keep those things clean...
