And today, quite a lot less than a year later, I have received my tax stamp. It arrived in the mail, without comment. Well, with one cryptic comment; a person at the ATF affixed a label to the form noting that the manufacturer's name, city, and state must be stamped on the weapon. Since they already are (and that is specified in the application), I assume they mean I need to add my name, city, and state somewhere, since according to the odd language of the NFA I am "making" the taxed firearm. Which, well, fair enough, I guess?

Anyway, the stamp means I'm good to go, if and when I find someone who can do the job.
