#0, Gaston's Terrible Legacy

Back in the '80s, when Glock pistols first started making major market inroads in the US, there was a lot of stupidly sensationalized press coverage in which people speculated that the polymer-framed pistol would usher in a new age of Firearms Invisible to Airport Security. It was all nonsense, of course, but there has been a dreadful unanticipated consequence of the advancement of that technology, all the same. Rather than invisible pistols on airliners, what the Glock revolution inevitably, inexorably led us to was this.

(Lest you think there's a gender bias at work here, it's also available in blue, for boys who have no sense of taste. :)

Just as bad as the Leica M à la carte cameras you can buy now.

Really, who comes up with the idea of "boutique" colors for items that don't need them? I think it's just to sell tacky items to people with no taste but a shitload of money to burn.

Michael

All my Leicas are at least 40 years old (My CL is the youngest at 42) and NONE have those gawdy, custom colors. Sorry for the topic drift here....

i've also seen hot pink furniture for the AR15. i suppose it's no different from ricing up a car or bedazzling something...

i'm sure that out there, somewhere, is some fool that has bedazzled his gun collection. i suppose this means that guns are gaining popular acceptance?
