You might remember him as Ranulf, the one-handed crossbowman in Hawk the Slayer, or maybe the Soul Hunter on Babylon 5 (or his turn as G'Kar's Uncle!),or the voice of Petros Xanatos on Gargoyles, or maybe even as a Klingon commander in Star Trek VI. Or the times he and his son Mark Sheppard played each other at different times in their lives.

Bur for me, he'll always be Blank Reg.

This is a huge loss...

His best role, IMO, wasn't sci-fi, it was as General Isaac Trimble in "Gettysburg."

But I do remember his turns in Transformers (the 2007 movie wasn't that bad... I saw it seven or eight times - I felt confident it would be good when Michael Bay cast Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime) and Babylon 5.

<clicky-clicky> <wiki-wiki> <clunk> I think the penny just dropped — now I realise the source of another guest appearance way back in Valiant Rose. I never really got into Max Headroom, so I just didn't recognise him.
