He's been old as long as I've been alive, but I never contemplated the possibility that he might die. He just seemed like tue sort of person who aged to a certain point and then went, "Okay, I'm done."Dammit.

I want a do-over of this year. Preferably without the plague, the death, and the cheeto. Can't we just have one nice thing?

In memoriam, here is my favorite Sean Connery joke, which was told to me by a friend in high school. It's a hypothetical conversation between Connery and director Russell Mulcahy on the set of Highlander (1986):M: Good news, Sean! Everybody in this film is Scottish. C: That'sh good! M: Except you. C: Ah. M: You're a 4,000-year-old Egyptian who came from the court of the King of Spain by way of feudal Japan. C: Hmm. I'll havetae practish that. --G. -><- Benjamin D. My parents told me that joke. That was certainly an inspired casting choice, though inspired by what I have no idea.
