Rebecca Heineman, AKA "BurgerBecky," has passed.

I do not use the word "legend" lightly, but that's a good description of her resume. I still have the Star Trek point and click games made by Interplay somewhere.

In 2011, she was part of my fanfiction panel at Anime Central. She was witty, engaging, and insightful. You could tell that she loved being a storyteller.

The last time I talked to her was on Yahoo Chat (remember that?) just after City of Heroes had shuttered. We briefly commiserated about the unfairness of it.

I was worried this might happen since last year, when her wife, Jennell Jaquays (another freaking legend) died under what can be charitably called "Unusual circumstances" while hospitalized.

It was fast-moving lung cancer (FUCK CANCER!!) and I hope her suffering was minimal and she enters Valhalla to be reunited with Jennell, wherein they go and challenge some frost giants to a Space Invaders tournament and whip their asses.

"This may not be a good idea, but it's the only one I have."

also, yes, they're both going to Valhalla. I firmly believe that the way that the world is right now, all trans people will, because just existing in public is a battle.
