How in the world did the suits POSSIBLY think this would work? Surely they're not greedy AND stupid enough to think 'we'll just take half a mills bills that was intended for charity for ourselves, surely nobody will notice, much less our talents, and nothing will go wrong!'.

FalseEyeD reported on a warning about a manager who moved from one agency to another last year and I wonder if the specific person moved to VShojo to disastrous results.

She closed out the stream by saying she's stealing Mane-chan on her way out the door.

Other folks take stationary, pens, coffee cups, and other small stuff. Kaichou walking out the front door with her manager under her arm/over her shoulder.

In retrospect, this puts Geega and Zen announcing their own departures after Matara and all three citing issues with payments to merch suppliers as one of the reasons in a new light.

One good thing has come of this debacle: the Tiltify donation link Mouse set up under her video has, in less than two days, raised more money than the amount VShojo was supposed to donate to the Immune Deficiency Foundation. At time of writing, the total stands at more than $550,000.

VShojo's stated goal was to put creators first: their needs, their passions, their interests. Though the company betrayed that goal, it's gratifying to see that the fan community it built up has not.

Only problem with that theory is that Veibae is making allegations (which Nyanners seems to be backing up) that she, Silver, and Nyan were not paid for their sponsorship deals for over two years. And that when it came time to sign new contracts, the lawyers the company provided were unlicensed, they were isolated and pressured to sign, and when they finally got their own lawyers they discovered the contracts were worse than those they'd signed in 2021 which is why all three left.

We're at that stage of the story where all the dirty laundry starts getting aired now that everybody's decided the company is cooked and thus there's no reason to fear the lawyers anymore.

Yeah, that does put a real wrinkle into that, doesn't it. Also, he's apparently in the JP side. Didn't find that part out until later.

Apprently Mowtondew didn't know about this horseshit either, so either somebody hid it real well, or it's Gunrun.

I think it was the nature of the problem that really blew the lid off this whole business. As noted above, Matara, Geega, & Zen all announced they were leaving and cited problems with payments to merch suppliers and implied that payments of other kinds were also on the list of grievances.

Yet it wasn't until Mousey said she was leaving because they stole $500K from a charity that folks seemed to realize that these asshats were greedy beyond just shorting their talents with IOUs.

It really does feel like there is some giant kind of psyco-parasite doing everything it can to mentally and emotionally destroy as many people as it possibly can in the world right now and you can see in real time people doing their best to fight back against an enemy they don't even understand with support and kindness.

Except I'm worried that JUST that ain't gonna cut it...
