Starts Saturday (NA).

Trailer

I have to be honest, I'm not entirely on board. I felt like the vibe of 2 was pretty weird, and the ending really rubbed me the wrong way. I'll give it a chance, but I doubt it'll own my free time the way 1 did.

The trailer gives me a major feeling of "trying too hard". Especially considering that while several of the girls are doing Serious Roleplaying (tm) that fits the tone of what they're showing, we also had a lot of goofy antics.

For what it's worth, I'm trusting that the girls will pull out something good from what they're given to work with. However, I'm also mentally bracing for something with the impact and outcome of dropping a fully-loaded sewer truck from great height onto town square.

"This is probably a stupid question, but . . ."

Kiara's not gonna be there for much of it, because of unavoidable travel going on, and from what I saw others say, it sounds like she's one of the ones who's least roleplay-y.

To be fair, trying too hard is kind of the purpose of teaser trailers in general.

Anything that involves GI MURIIIIIIN RPing her/his little knightly heart out is good in my book. How will Gonathan G fare this time? Will there be more heart-rending romance? Will he finally start his villain arc? Will he ever get a steady girlfriend?! ALL THIS AND GAS BABIES.

I think I've finally put my finger on what doesn't click for me about ENreco, particularly post-Chapter 1: it feels too obviously like Corporate Mandatory Fun, like a LARP conducted as a "team-building exercise" by one of those numbnuts tech companies I worked for in the '90s.

It doesn't help that it's crammed into a week, and there's no chance for the girls to really warm up and slip back into character (especially considering that 6 of the 15 should've changed character to a degree, after regaining their memories).

Yeah, that's a reasonable idea. It might feel less disruptive if they did it, say, weekly for two months or something? Except there's hardly ever a two-month span in which somebody isn't either doing or preparing for one idol thing or another, I suppose.

Yeah, that's probably why it just doesn't appeal to me, because it has all the feel of something that brewed up in a management meeting rather than a spontaneous idea that has had real investment by the talents poured into it.

They see the hubub around the GTA RP stuff like Matsuri does and how popular that is.

And Minecraft is much easier to customize and make their own (and also get permission for) than GTA...

I think it would probably do better if it was only the people who really like to roleplay, and not an all hands thing? Because there's nothing cringier than watching somebody who both doesn't really get 'structured' roleplaying and also doesn't really want to be there.

Some poorly-thought-out mod mechanics reducing what was supposed to be a dramatic moment to farce, the way in which Kiara somehow managed to (I suspect mostly unintentionally) hijack the entire storyline despite the fact that she was in a different country being a different person the entire time, and a cliffhanger non-ending worthy of Back to the Future II--incidentally, a movie that made me so angry I've still never seen Back to the Future III...

... that season finale sure was A Thing That Happened, all right.

While I'm sure it won't change your mind - I have things that I refuse to do that have nothing to do with the things themselves and rather the circumstances around those things, so I get it - I thought Back to the Future III was pretty darn okay.

(Of course, I also unironically like Howard the Duck because I think it's fun, so, my tastes don't exactly align with about 99%* of known forms of life.)

I'm not saying that game would be a friendship-ender, but with Fuwawa giggling every time she dodged Gigi, I would not be surprised if she pranks the Fluffy One hard at the next concert.

Healing and Invisibility!?
