Yep, everyone's favorite goober of a LewdTuber has been banned. Precisely why, we don't know, because guess what? They just said she "violated guidelines".https://x.com/ProjektMelody/status/2115986817317011899/photo/1 Welp, that's it I guess. 6 years, gone. Never seeing my YouTube channel again. No strike. No warning. No nothing. I haven't had a single issue on the channel since April of 2020 where I reviewed a Nutaku game. And 6 years later, they just wipe it. I don't even get a link or specific reason showing what offended YouTube so badly? I don't even get a real appeal by a human? Instead I get a nice "get fucked" email? I'm just... I. Listen, I was a Lewdtuber before it had a name. And despite my passions, I tried to play it safe, to not "overly offend." And make a little box for myself that felt acceptable enough for mainstream. But it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you censor things. Or use incredibly stupid/damaging code words to infantalize ourselves, and cosplay as effective communicators. It doesn't matter. What matters is, if you're an Adult Content Creator (or any variation of Sex Worker), you're always wrong. They don't need proof to justify erasing us. It's a bigoted & cruel mentality. And I wish they felt shame. I'm wondering how many others are going to get hit by this soon, or others who collab with them... -- Jen Dantes - Darth Mephron Haberdasher to Androids, Dark Lady of Sith Tech Support. >Yep, everyone's favorite goober of a LewdTuber has been banned. >Precisely why, we don't know, because guess what? They just said she >"violated guidelines". The weirdest part to me is that as far as I can remember, she didn't even stream on YouTube as a general thing. Her YT presence was basically the same as a clipper channel, except she was clipping her own Twitch streams. And since they were allowed to be on Twitch in the first place, it's obvious they weren't her lewd streams. Apparently just the fact that she does lewd streams is reason enough to eject her from the platform. Obviously the process is, as per usual, entirely opaque, but my guess would be that Friend Computer (because you know no human has been involved in the process at any time, not in 2026 on YouTube) decided that maintaining a presence on YouTube automatically constitutes directing viewers toward whatever else you do (and there is a specific clause in the guidelines about using YT to direct viewers toward content that wouldn't be allowed there, something that has also been used to trip up at least one guntuber). It sucks, and it's clear from her remarks that it hurts her personally. The upside, if there is one, is that her YouTube channel wasn't a very big part of her content footprint to begin with. It's not nearly as big a hit, practically speaking, as getting banned from PornHub(???) was. --G. -><- Benjamin D. And now it's restored! Because Youtube is full of cowards, and she was big enough to make a big enough public stink. Quite possibly Youtube's on Legal department got involved once it was noticed that there wasn't actually just cause to do it and she had several different grounds on which they could maybe get sued.

Ah, the Stephanie Sterling approach. "I have lawyers who have confirmed no breach of your TOS have occurred by evidence you've provided." "Aw, that's cute." "I've now started legal action, here's the relevant paperwork." "Ohshi- REVERSE EVERYTHING!" Matrix Dragon, J. Random Nutter

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-26 AT 05:01 AM (EDT) There's nothing a corporation('s legal department) fears more than the possibility of legal precedent against them. It opens them up to potentially thousands of lawsuits based on that precedent.

A Canadian filmmaker I've been doing some writing for had his YT channel banned for "Unsatisfying and offputting content". He does long-form AI videos about a Hogwarts student in 2026, and the only pre-existing characters are the teachers and occasional appearances by Minister Granger. They turned down his appeal without even watching his appeal video. Meanwhile, a lot of low-effort "slop is flooding my feed. Especially that Malfoid" stuff. YT is run by arseholes.

This pattern of events has, to my understanding, been repeated with a number of indie vtubers on youtube, most of whom are not especially lewd nor seem to have much else in common with each other. I give it good odds this is more of that, rather than any particular issue with Mel or her content on youtube's part.Best theory I've run into is that some community out there is periodically picking a vtuber and mass reporting them, and youtube's automoderation is going "well, if there's this many reports there's got to be something wrong!", and it only gets past that by getting a human to look, with twitter mobs being the only way to get a human to look. (The other theory is that someone inside youtube doesn't like vtubers and periodically bonks one for shits and giggles, but that seems to stretch plausibility unless they've just got no internal accountability measures whatsoever.) -IA. (i'm still kinda torqued el never got her main channel back... though she maybe did kinda play a bit too close to the fire)

I'd say "no internal accountability measures whatsoever" doesn't stretch plausibility for YouTube. "This is probably a stupid question, but . . ."

Eh, maybe.A lot of people seem to blame AI moderation too, but... well, going by the search AI, it's not perfect by far, but it should be less dumb than -this-. -IA. (received information not interpretable)

Considering this has been happening off and on for like five years now, before AI moderation really came about to the same extent, I'm willing to bet it's somebody or a group of somebodies who have friends who are 'fleshtubers' and are pissed about these 'fake cartoons' having an audience while their friends don't.
