So! I've mentioned it in passing, but HoloFes, or the Hololive Super Expo (I'm probably conflating two different things) (EDIT: Ah! It's 5th Fes, so it's both!), the twice or so a year in person megaconcert festival is happening in two days, and groups are already in Japan for it, including all of Myth.

You need to buy tickets to watch the full streams, which you can do at https://hololivesuperexpo2024.hololivepro.com/en (or you can wait until afterwards for some ah - less official copies to surface). They also sell blurays after the event. There's also usually watchalongs of the concert (which is true for *every* live concert) from those who can't be there and/Or A-Chan.

There's already been a song release ahead of time! Tsunomaki Watame once did a song celebrating Hololive as it was at the time, with some of their usual stream greetings, which asked "Can you do thr Hololive? Sung by herself at first, but then redone and updated with everyone and now, three years later, Updated once more!

This year, at least, it appears that the Fes (ed. note not "fest"? Japanese marketing departments be weird) is the concert component of the Expo, which seems to be a larger event with booths and food concessions and stuff.

Also, holy cow those streaming tickets are expensive.

The Super Expo is an actual in person event and concert, yeah, practically a mini-convention. Last time, I believe, maybe the time before, they had everyone's actual outfits on display~ I believe they couldn't get their hands on a mannequin small enough for Gura's, so she got a taller one. :3

They also had a GIGANTIC Gura statue at one of them that I think got auctioned(?) off.

Edit: As for the streaming ticket prices...yeah, I can’t excuse that except that it’s all in 4K, which for a lot of us I’m sure won’t matter. (I don’t have a single screen capable of showing 4K video, myself).

The Blu-ray’s are probably just as bad - Japan has the business model of ‘charge whatever the nerds will spend’ for physical media, and has basically as long as physical media existed. So it may be worth checking for vods being posted to certain aggregator sites. Or for people posting them certain songs to YouTube, though those are probably more temporary.

Oof, yeah. I wasn't expecting them to be cheap, but that's still about $20 more per stage than I was expecting.

"This is probably a stupid question, but . . ."

I just want to say that the Japanese method of selling things that are limited in number is both infuriating and also better than some alternatives; You're entered into a lottery, and you have the opportunity to buy the thing. This helps prevent scalpers, which is a considerable problem other places, but it also leaves people at the mercy of a random draw.

DeerSqn (Once Pomu Rainpuff) didn't manage to get one , so she couldn't see her Kiara in person :3
