I also liked the "Mecha-Kronii" predictions, simply for being so far outside of Hololive's general territory. And I have to commend Wada Arco for being so restrained with the outfit- after all this is the woman who ensured that all of the glory of Rome was on display.

The last track of Hakos Baelz's album Zodiac, EIEN, is extremely pretty. Some major Christopher Tin or Thomas Bergersen vibes, though calmer than is typical for the latter. (Credit where credit is due, that'd be more on composer and MIDI programmer Yuuki Furuhashi than on Bae herself.)

The lyrics are apparently in a conlang based on Maltese?? I haven't found a translation, just Bae talking about it in very general terms.

As basically everyone who was paying attention and knows her guessed ahead of time, Kronii was at the 11bit Hands on Event in Poland and got to play Frostpunk 2 and Alters.

I hope they added an edict or whatever Frostpunk has that says 'Just don't die'. :)

I think the only thing keeping the Advent girls from getting doxx'ed in Japan would be sheer politeness, considering how many outliers they have in their group:

• A set of identical twin sisters
  
• A miniature girl
  
• And a white girl who's tall even by white girl standards (so a double outlier)
  

Sure, none of these are too unusual by themselves, but get any two together and it starts getting noticeable. This thought occurred to me after Biboo mentioned that they went to get Pon-de-Rings- if they went as a group, they might as well wear nametags.

Relatedly, I wonder if cosplaying as themselves might not work as a kind of "reverse camouflage" for the talents, at least at any kind of fan event.

Particularly if they went to that one Mister Donut in wherever-it-is that showed up the time Fuwamoco played GeoGuessr. Seems as though I remember them mentioning that they were regulars there the previous time they spent a while in Japan, back when they were both Someone Else.

As an aside, I was in a Dunkin' Donuts earlier today, and one of the menu screens was playing an idle montage that involved a slideshow of obsolete Dunkin' logos. In amongst them, I was mildly startled to see the MisDo logo, until I remembered that Dunkin' bought them out in the US in the '90s and converted most of the stores.

It's a location (not sure if the only one?) in Akihabara, which has become something of a pilgrimage/shrine for Fuwamoco fans.

:cough: Well, yes, but also FWMC and Nerissa have Known identities at this point, so it's the same level of politeness for people not being Weird around Calli. The danger is actually more to Biboo and Shiori because they've been far more down low about things.

I feel like people don't talk enough about how Gura's model has battle scars. Ten-thousand-year-old shark has clearly seen some shit in her time.

So, uh, this happened. Apparently Vanguard's manager was the one to come up with the idea and spring it on the boys.

Naturally, people are speculating about who's next on the pole. Aside from the usual suspects (paging Houshou Marine and Takanashi Kiara to the 3d booth), I have the following predictions:

• Biboo is gonna sneak in and do something with the pole strictly for Da Memes.
  
• Shiori will troll the audience by acting like she'll get on the pole, but not actually do so.
  
• If FuwaMoco try the pole, they'll do so together, and it'll either go really well, or they'll crash into each other immediately.
  
• Kronii is going to be the target of a lot of Big Sad Eyes bullying her onto the pole.
  
• YabaiRyS will have to be physically restrained to keep her away from the pole (or at least reminded to put on a mocap suit first).
  
• Lastly, somebody is going to con Gura onto the pole at some point, not for the usual reason, but for the joy of seeing how much suffering a klutz can inflict on herself out of pure stubbornness.

It feels like I once saw a clip of Kiara saying something about having or using a dancing pole, but I don't remember the context of it...or if it was even her. A quick search suggests it wasn't, but it still feels like she did say something about one...

The passive voice is doing a lot of work there in the English translation. Considering she has a successful career as a very high up manager, I would suspect it's more likely she just decided not to come back after maternity leave.

General Consensus at the other places I frequent lean towards A-Chan having to care for a relative/take over a family business. She turned 20 in Feb 2021, so she's 23 now, which is still rather young for parenthood? Anyway, they're trying to keep people from speculating too much into her private life, so I'll drop it here.

In other news, I got a mezzanine level ticket for the Sat Aug 24th "Breaking Dimensions" concert in Brooklyn, NYC (and boy they went fast, with 3000 seats a night!). Now all I need is train tickets and one night in a hotel...

Anyway, 23 for a first child doesn’t seem that young to me. But looking at statistics suggests the average age of having ones first child is 31...

Having to take over the family business feels like such a backwards thing to me. “I have a successful career in an entirely different field, why do I have to manage this store?” Or whatever. Like, hire somebody. Yeah there’s tradition but there’s also pragmatism.

More officially, Friend A reads out her letter, accompanied by a music-box rendition of "Shiny Smily Story". I'm not prone to crying, but it certainly makes me tear up a bit.

EDIT: In her last HoloGra appearance, Friend A accesses the Speed Force in her attempts to leave work on time for her last day.

I still hold out hope for an appearance by a Wild Sana.

It's wild that over nearly seven years of existence, there's been only three actual graduations (And four terminations, with varying levels of deservedness) from Cover.

(Wait, I just remembered the closing of the China branch. ...That's somewhat extenuating circumstances, I'd say.)

Meanwhile, the other (once) leading vtuber corp had that many in the space of a *weekend*.

Indeed. (I'd say the same thing about Kiryu Coco, but sticking with her current face in any guest appearances, with winking "we can't say this, but we can acknowledge it" references, seems dramatically more likely.)

Three? Oh, counting Friend A? I imagine she'll join Coco and Sana on the Alum tab of Hololive's Talents page soon enough... Oh, Mano Aloe! I guess she didn't last long enough to be kept on the Talent page.

There's also been four graduations and a termination among Holostars JP and EN. (Or maybe five graduations? There's a timeline graphic that claims Tsukishita Kaoru was terminated, but the Hololive Fan Wiki uses the neutral "ended his contract".)

Yeah, I was counting A-Chan. Aloe is in the ‘terminated’ category, with Chris, Rushia, and Mel. Like I said, varying levels of deservedness.

And dammit, I keep forgetting Stars exists!

If we use "not kept on the Talent page as an alumnus" as our standard for what counts as a termination, then there's actually been two terminations among the gents: Yakushiji Suzaku is also absent. (And of course all of Hololive China is missing from the ladies' side.)

The Hololive Fan Wiki claims that Aloe graduated "after deciding that she was not physically or mentally prepared to continue with her activities", but coming on the heels of a suspension that sounds an awful lot like a low-acrimony "let's pretend it was your idea" termination. (As opposed to poor Mel, where there was absolutely zero acrimony, but if they could've gotten away with pretending it was her idea they wouldn't have terminated her at all. Rushia's termination seems like it was pretty deserved, but Hitomi Chris was so thoroughly memory-holed that it's impossible for me to tell how much she deserved it.)

There's also the strange case of Omegaα. They might still be part of Hololive English's office staff, but someone clearly decided that giving them a lore video and channel like a talent was a bad idea.

Hitomi Chris, as far as I'm able to determine, was getting funded by a person, she auditioned to Hololive got accepted, he started calling himself her producer, leaked private info, and Cover washed their hands of her and the mess she brought.
