I suspect a lot of people here are already familiar with it, but the Vampire Survivors-style fangame Holocure just dropped its 0.7 update last night. Obviously a ton of the Holo girls will be playing it (Calli here for example) if you've never seen it, so go grab one of the streams if you haven't played but want to learn about it (or avoid the streams if you want to dodge spoilers). My personal opinion: It's good, it's addictive, it's free, go get it! I was going to resurrect the older fan games thread, but yeah! When Ame did her "only mostly graduating" thing, I decided to make a point of getting all alumni to Gatchikoi fandom level, and succeeded a while back, but now I have Coco to work on too.

I main Sana, partly because Sana Is Eternal, but also because giant planets smooshing everything is a hell of a lot of fun."This is probably a stupid question, but . . ."

Even when I don't have a Project, I don't have a single "main". I tend to favour Sana (for similar reasons, plus her high max health for Piki Piki Piman and "Speaker of Space" for a fun build direction), Kaela (I just like her mining and smithing theme), and Anya (her preoccupation with pick-up range and melee weapons also provides a fun build direction).

Update: Coco's Skills are kind of bonkers. "GMMF" gives life-steal to Asacoco weapons and eliminates downsides of Asacoco items, on top of the actual scaling effect of increased damage to newly-spawned targets. "Dragon of Hololive" makes targets occasionally drop traffic cones, bicycles, and toilets, which Coco can pick up and throw for significant damage. Finally, "Dragon Heat Action" lets you use the Special button at 50% for a Chicago Typewriter or 75% for a rocket launcher. That last synergises hilariously well with the GWS Pill item, which now boosts skill attack damage in addition to crit rate when the Special meter is below full.

Project complete, until someone else graduates (or the devs add graduated HoloStars members). In other news, Watame has my favourite healing-based kit, and Noel has possibly my favourite kit overall, though I should really try everyone out before making such a declaration. (Two of Noel's Skills and her Awakened main weapon have effects that scale with Max Health, and one of those skills increases her Max Health every few seconds, so a Piki Piki Piman build is a natural choice.)

I think he was specifically referring to maxing out graduated talents, but yeah. I'm kinda thinking/hoping Advent and maybe Justice are next, but "next" in this case is going to be quite a while. Not that I'm complaining- Kay Yu and his team did an awesome job!"This is probably a stupid question, but . . ."

If your Mac has an x86-architecture CPU, it'll almost certainly run perfectly well under WINE. (You can get it from Itch.io if you don't want to faff about with Steam's compatibility settings.) I couldn't get it to work under Linux, but that's because I have a fifteen-year-old potato Lenovo with terrible driver support. I don't know why Apple decided to switch to ARM CPUs at the end of 2020, but it's possible that Steam's Proton compatibility layer (along with whatever Apple has in place for CPU compatibility assistance) can make it work even on a newer Mac.

Watching various holomems play this update over the last couple of days, I have been reminded that sessions of this game inevitably reach a point where my brain cannot even comprehend what the hell is happening on the screen. I might as well be trying to spot landmarks >in hyperspace. :) This is part of why I to some degree prefer the gameplay loop of Wedding Witch (note: which is pretty risque). Instead of getting progressively crazier (until you hit the 30 minute mark, at which point it gets exponentially crazier), a run in WW is broken into stages with varying goals and where each stage starts with a lower density of stronger enemies than what the previous stage had. On the other hand, Holocure has what are, for the most part, more interesting abilities (character-specific and otherwise), and a better feeling progression system that's less prone to RNG screw. So it's absolutely got more staying power... ... I just can't play it for very long at a time without getting a headache. o.o -IA. (received information not interpretable)

I'm sort of curious what the crew's reasoning for purposefully leaving out the cutting board from the game's roster. Can't be that she was terminated, because the banpire is still in the game. And they added kaichou despite her graduation being over 3 years ago. I guess the circumstances of her exit really left that big an impression on folks.

She is....if not actually insane, is quite close to it. If even half of the allegations against her by her husband are true, she's psychopathic. It wasn't just her departure from Cover, it's the litany of things since that have come out about her as a person.

I guess Kson really does have that sort of pull these days.

Well, that was immediately after she got canned. She then proceeded to do jack and shit as Nazuna, before basically cutting ties over there right around when the everything around her was at peak shitshow. My personal theory is that she got soft fired once Gunrun and everyone learned what the hell she was actually like, and they decided to just quietly let her contract run out rather than making a to do about it. She does *not* seem like the kind of person Mel, Zen, Mouse, or Henya would enjoy being around, knowing even even a tenth of what they probably know about her now. ....For that matter, has kson been doing much as a vshojo member in the last age? All I've seen her doing is solo stuff - mostly just chatting while she builds gunpla. I've seen her collabing more with *Demondice* than any of the vshojos. Have I just missed it because I don't do Twitch? No hate on kson, of course, or on her just chatting while building gunpla - it's important to be able to just do what you want to do.

I present next level trolling: Bae encounters a bug that frustrates her for hours, finally gives up and orders chat not to talk about it any further, and then is directed to a tweet from the creator acknowledging that he's been watching the stream and saw the bug...but won't be fixing it because he's getting too much amusement watching Bae bang her head against a wall. The primal scream that caps the clip? *chef's kiss*
