Sad but not unexpected. She's had a lot of health and other issues.

Rough live TL of her discussion (post her latest karaoke stream), says she said it was half that, half divergence of company direction and her personal goals.

Funnily enough, I just watched a Rin Penrose clip discussing the future of vtubing and the top comment hit on what I think has caused the recent spat of graduations from HL: trying to turn vtubers into idol singers. The physical demands of idol singing and the mental stamina requirements of regular streaming content do not mesh well, and it's causing strain that is leading to more frequent "mental health breaks" and nearly constant issues with burnout. The post-COVID push for more concerts and more public appearances, the increasing amount of "homework" the talents are saddled with, is causing psychological drain that is leaking more and more into the streaming side of things.

I just don't think it's a coincidence that HL has had three graduations in a year that all cited some variation of "creative differences," two of which of returned to indie vtubing where they aren't required to dance and sing as part of a contract.

One hopes that Cover will understand that's why this is happening. They DO seem to be pivoting towards a branch that is *all about* that, though, which should hopefully take some pressure off of the more traditional streamer girls?

Yesn't. Aqua wanted to do MORE singing and dancing but Cover's queue is way too bottlenecked.

Chloe got buried between Cover's work running into that she formed an indie idol group a year ago and they were doing well (one of the other members is her RL sister, one of the others is Matsuri). Plus she's one of JP's highest SC earners so there might have been a quiet contract dispute there for %, they're just not going to say that publicly.

It looks like the Ame Way is already becoming the standard at Cover: "Although her regular streaming and related activities will end, Sakamata Chloe will remain an affiliate of hololive production moving forward. […] Any future activities that involve Sakamata Chloe will be announced through official social media and other channels."
