Isn't that basically a summary of the vtubing industry as a whole? It really feels like, as vtubing has branched out from Asian markets and into Western ones, the cutesy and "family-friendly" atmosphere gave way to vtubers as people who feel most comfortable being themselves with a wafer-thin illusion of anonymity. You consider the rise of "menhera" vtubers like Pippa or "hag" vtubers like Matara and it's clear that the industry is a far cry from what it was even half a decade ago.
