#0, They made a Spider-Man Noir movie

LAST EDITED ON May-06-26 AT 00:27 AM (EDT) Although for reasons I'm not privy to, the title is simply Spider-Noir, no -Man. According to the tail end of the trailer, it's going to be released in black-and-white and "True-Hue", which appears to be a color treatment tweaked to look like vintage Technicolor. When Nic Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir in Into the Spider-Verse, I have to admit I didn't have him playing a live-action version of the character on my bingo card, but hey, we already know he can do the voice. :) The original Spider-Man Noir comic was pretty brutal and not at all funny, as befits something based on hard-boiled detective films noir if it's being played straight. It's hard to tell from a two-minute trailer, but it looks like they were shooting for sort of a middle ground between that and the full-on comic treatment the character got in Spider-Verse with the live-action version. If so, I'm up for that. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Some exec realized they still had Cage on contract if they wanted to bring back Noir for another Spiderverse film and decided to get their money's worth. >The original Spider-Man Noir comic was pretty brutal and not at >all funny, as befits something based on hard-boiled detective films >noir if it's being played straight. Agreed, it's difficult to get a clear picture based upon a short trailer, but it appears they're still leaning somewhat into the "bumbling noir detective" portrayal as seen in the Spiderverse films.

Also, I was just reminded that I wished for a Spider-Man Noir movie after seeing Into the Spider-Verse, and now there is one. So hey, Sony, uh... about that Spider-Gwen movie...--G. keep it animated, though -><- Benjamin D.
