... somebody finally wrote a version of Damian Wayne I don't completely hate.

The version in Tom King's Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman is still an asshole, make no mistake. He's just as rude, abrasive, and generally obnoxious as he ever was...

... but grouped with a version of Jon Kent who just (usually-)cheerfully ignores his misanthropy and his delusions of adequacy except to riff on them mercilessly, and an Amazon princess who thinks of them both as her dopey big brothers, he's actually kinda tolerable. At the very least, he makes Jon and Lizzie funnier by being there for contrast. :)

Also, I dig the adult version's take on the Batman costume, but don't tell him I said that. His head's big enough as it is.

It gives moderate Gotham by Gaslight vibes, and that's my favorite version of the Batsuit ever.

King doesn't get credit for that one. It's just the Batman #666 outfit from 2007.

Is this the series where Damian tries to teach Lizzie how to tie her shoes?

That's a very cute scene, although I imagine that whoever taught him that mnemonic is also the person who taught him to improvise a garotte from a pair of shoelaces.

Also, I like that Jon knows better than to stick around when Lizzie learns a word she shouldn't have.

Yup.

I just checked, and he says his mother taught it to him, so... that tracks.

(He also goes on to note, quite casually, that though he got it right the first time, he failed to tie his shoes correctly on his next attempt, causing his grandfather to lock him in a box in the desert for a week without food or water.)

Which is... actually kind of genuinely tragic. I don't deny that Damian has reasons for being such a jagged piece of human wreckage.

have you been reading Batman: Wayne Family Adventures? If not, honestly, dedicate an hour to that sometime soon. It has:

Bruce growing emotionally

Bruce admitting he's wrong (sometimes)

Jason being vulnerable (an entire two-page to his PTSD in the first season, and then a multiple page sub-arc where friends show up to help him through another PTSD response in the second)

Dick being both silly and romantic

Damien being very tolerable and, in some cases, funny

Stephanie and Cassandra doing at least one ship-tease and then avoiding it in a really great way

Selina taking Bruce to school while being a loving, supportive partner

Bruce not seeing through a Joker plot until someone else whacks him over the head with it.

Alfred being the best

Lois impressing Damien and Jon with what she does

Clark and Diana almost giving Bruce a cerebral aneurysm

It's fun. I recommend it. Again. :)

No, and I keep meaning to. I've seen a couple of individual strips that have come across my feed as retweets, and they look fun, but I haven't dived into the whole thing yet. It's like that meme I saw a while ago that said something to the effect of, "No matter how much we both know I'll like that show, I can't watch it until the Neurodivergence Department in my head approves it. I have no control over when that will happen." :)

The key is to have a writer that can admit B can be wrong. Not sure the main continuity has had that for a few decades.

As a diehard Batgirl Shipper, I adore the WFA dynamic of these two. It's the kind of relationship where there being a romantic relationship is just a nice extra.
