Sadly the best fanfic for this is also a deadfic, it skips forward a couple years to a 'new age of space piracy' and features lots of smart stuff and Chiaki being a super intelligent pirate captain. Shame it's not gonna be finished.https://archiveofourown.org/works/11842623
