First off, nice poster. I'm not as big a fan of R-Type's people as I am his mecha (it's a style thing, not a quality one), but this one rocks all over :)

I'm also struck by the implications of the change in the name of EVA-01 - It seems like Lucifer has been "released" from the Eva, and that DJ has _become_ the Eva. This would, of course, explain a lot of things, but that'll have to wait for TMP :)

Of course, if DJ is EVA-01, it also raises a whole boatload of other questions, but I'll wait a while and see what answers I get first...

Look at the poster again. It says EVA-01', not EVA-01.

Hmm.. wasn't a Prime used to designate the upgrade from the orange to blue Unit 00 in the original timeline?

It's a designation usually used to mean "it's the same name, but really the successor/alternate/something completely different", designated by appending an apostrophe to the original name. It also has other mathematical/scientific uses, but they're less relevant here.

Of course I could be snotty and just say, "The leader of the Autobots, eveybody knows that!", but I won't :)

One usually sees the use I assume the artist is going for in higher-level mathematics.

YOu'll have variable like phi and phi-prime...Usually this is used (IIRC, it's been a while) when the two objects in question are closely related, but distinctly different.

There, that should be about as clear as mud :)

If DJ has become the EVA, why does he still look human? The poster implies that DJ (Longinus though he is) and EVA-01' Longinus are two physically separate entities.

Different vessels, same person. He -has- both, but can only run one at a time (-if- I have my In Nomine right which is dodgy 'cause I've never so much as seen a rulebook.)

Or maybe DJ's just plain back, and he's got an upgraded EVA. Named Longinus either because it's 1) not the same EVA 2) Lucifer's not home anymore for one reason or another. Since if there's no other being in the EVA besides DJ, then to a certain extent, the EVA is DJ, thus, Longinus.

Half the time the questions that are asked have rather mundane answers. That is if anything can be considered mundane in NXE.
